Ghanaian international Abdul Rahman Baba has opened up on why he joined Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki in the just-ended winter 2021 transfer window.
The talented left-back had lots of suitors including Middlesbrough and other clubs when it became evident that he needed a loan move from Chelsea for adequate playing time but he opted for PAOK and has outlined his reasons.
“I am feeling great and happy to be here, choosing PAOK was an easy decision for me to make. First impression here has been very good, the people, the fans have welcome me well. I have received lots of social media messages and I am happy.” Baba told PAOK TV in his first official interview.
“I know a bit about PAOK, I know how passionate the fans are. I am ready for action, both physically and mentally. I’ve been training and playing games so I am well equipped and I cannot wait to get started.”
“PAOK has always been a title contender and this is one of the reasons why I chose the club. I cannot wait to help the club achieve their goals.”
Baba further urged the fans of PAOK to keep supporting them as they go all out to win laurels for the club.
“It is sad we don’t have the fans at the Stadium, we all know of the pandemic which has taken the world by storm. I know how ardent they are, they should keep supporting us even though they wont be at the Stadium physically as we fight for the club.” He added.
