The Black Stars of Ghana are poised to win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and that quest is on course as the team won tis first game against Uganda on Tuesday in Port –Gentil .
But instead of jubilating the win back home, majority of Ghanaians are rather concerned about the bonus money (8000 USD – 10 000 USD) paid to the Black Stars for winning a game but captain of the side Asamoah Gyan says the Black Stars players are already wealthy and have got their own money and are not thinking about the winning bonus but the Gold medal in Gabon.
“We are not thinking about money here. What we are thinking about is winning the Africa Cup. There are lot of things going on and we don’t want any problems involving the Black Stars and the public. So we just focus and I think most of us have got money and don’t forget also that we employ people too in the country. We create employment in the country and that is what people should also undertastand .We employ people, create employment and so where do we get all that money from ?” Asamoah Gyan pointed out to Metro FM in an interview in Port-Gentil with Gariba Raubil.
