Ghana Coach James Kwasi Appiah, has congratulated the Black Meteors after securing qualification to the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament comes off between 8–22 November 2019 in Egypt.
Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw by the Fennec Foxes last Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Algeria to seal a 1-0 win courtesy a 67th-minute strike from Yaw Yeboah.
“I wasn’t surprised about the Black Meteors scoreline,” Kwasi Appiah told Kumasi-based Light FM.
According to the Black Stars coach, he knew the quality squad in-depth of the Ghana U-23 team and that they would qualify despite failing to win the first leg in Accra.
”I knew very well with their quality squad in-depth they would qualify. I want to extremely congratulate Coach Ibrahim Tanko, Michael Osei and all the technical handlers for helping us seal this qualification,” he continued
