Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid, after activating the player’s £45 million transfer release clause.
On Monday the Premier League club finally agreed to pay the £45 million fee and the 27-year-old and his medical took place in the Spanish capital.
El @Arsenal deposita en LaLiga el importe de la cláusula de rescisión de Thomas Partey, que extingue de forma unilateral su contrato con nuestro club.

The 27-year old midfielder jewel £250,000-a-week at Arsenal after signing a five-year deal.
The release clause meant that the buying club didn’t need to negotiate with the selling club and instead triggered the deal by telling La Liga they were triggering the release clause, in the same way PSG bought Neymar and Manchester City bought Rodri.

The Black Stars vice-captain moved to the Spanish capital eight years ago and has made 188 appearances for Atleti since then.
