TP Mazembe extended their continental success over to the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.
TP Mazembe achieved another feat on Sunday as Rainford Kalaba and co came together to clinch the 10th international honor for the Ravens beating MO Bejaia 4-1 with goals from Merveille Bope, Rainford Kalaba and Jonathan Bolingi.
Ghanaians Solomon Asante and Daniel Nii Adjei started the game for TP Mazembe.
Kalaba realized a spectacular brace to finish as top goalscorer of the competition with 8 goals.
Mazembe’s first Confederation Cup title was secured following an emphatic win over Algerian side MO Bejaia – in a game where the Congolese giants dominated from the blast of the first whistle to the last one.
30-year old Rainford Kalaba showed why he is arguably the best attacking midfielder currently playing on the African continent as the Zambian commanded the game with utmost authority.
But after this remarkable achievement how do TP Mazembe compare with Ghana’s biggest club Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in terms of continental competitions?
Mazembe have just added a Confederation Cup honor to their 5 Champions league titles won, 1 Cup Winners’s Cup and 3 CAF Super Cup titles taking their total non-domestic titles to an impressive number 10.
Asante Kotoko have only 2 Champions league titles to count on whilst Hearts of Oak have won the Champions League once, the Confederation Cup once and one CAF Super Cup.
