Ghana winger Christian Atsu was in action and also scored for Newcastle United’s U-23 as they loss to Leeds United.
The 29-year old forward starred for the Premier League II side, in their 2-1 defeat to Leeds United.
The former Everton star has been reinstated in the Magpies team for the rest of the premier league season, after missing the first round following his exclusion from the first-team squad.
Atsu’s contract is running down and could leave the St. James Park at the end of the season as a free agent.
Joseph Paul Gelhardt and Charlie Cresswell scored the two goals for Leeds before the half hour mark.
Atsu, however, netted the only consolation goal for Newcastle two minutes to half time.
