FC Nordsjælland have loaned Ghanaians left-back Clinton Antwi to the 1st division club Esbjerg FB for the rest of the season.
Clinton Antwi joined FCN from the Right to Dream academy almost three years ago and after a season on the U19 team established himself in the Superliga squad. But this season there has not been much playing time in FC Nordsjælland, and therefore both the Ghanaian back and the sports management agree that it is a good opportunity for both parties, who have now volunteered on the West Coast for the rest of this season.
Sports Manager Jan Laursen: – We still have a strong belief in Clinton, but we agree that he needs more fighting time on the field to continue his development, fulfill his potential and come back even stronger. He gets good opportunities for that in Esbjerg, and we know he will be in good hands with our former coach Ólafur Kristjánsson. Clinton is a sympathetic young man with a big heart both on and off the field, and at the same time he has a very high work ethic and always acts professionally in any context. We look forward to following him in Esbjerg.
Clinton Antwi: – I need playing time in relation to my development, and therefore I am happy with the opportunity I now get in Esbjerg. I look forward to the challenge and my clear ambition is to fight for a place on the team and do my part so that the club can return to the Superliga. I believe this is the right thing for me.
Clinton Antwi has so far played 22 official matches with the tiger on his chest.
