Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Dereck Darkwa has revealed that he could sign for an English team this summer.
Darkwa whose contract with NEC ends this summer pointed out that he has already trained with a club in England and everything is set for a deal this window.
“The past few weeks I did an internship at a club in England. That went well, but everything has been postponed due to the corona crisis.” Darkwa told ELF
“At the beginning I trained with the Under 23, but I also payed as a striker with the first team. An incredibly cool experience, but it does not alter the fact that I have to focus on a place in the Under 23 team. I will do that after the corona crisis. At the moment I still train on the fields, but of course I keep to the regulations. I do a tempo run every day to keep fit. It is a bit of a bite at this time. ” He added.
Darkwa 20, has previously featured FC Utrecht where he went through their youth system before being released in March last year.
He has also okayed for the Dutch up to the Under 19 level but still eligible to represent Ghana.
