Former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong says FA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi should not be blamed for the Black Stars inability to win the Africa cup of nation’s title in Gabon.
The FIFA Executive Council member has been under immense pressure since Ghana’s failure to win the 2017 Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Some pundits and connoisseurs of the game believe that Nyantakyi has exhausted his football ideas hence the need for him to make way for a different personality to spearhead the affairs of the football Association.
But Speaking on Anopa Bosuo Sports on Happy FM, Dr. KK Sarpong who is now the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Company insists the football administrator is not the cause for the Stars inability to win laurels.
“I don’t think calls for him to step down is a good one because he was elected and it’s up to those who gave him the mandate to decide and again I will say he can’t be blamed for the Stars failure to win the AFCON title”
“So if he leaves then the problem people are claiming to be there will be solved?
“I think it’s about time we look at the team in totality because for me the team is ageing and also the way and manner players are invited that’s what we should be looking at because Nyantakyi is not even in charge of the black stars management committee” he told Accra based Happy FM
