English Premier League club Southampton FC have expressed interest in signing Celtic right-back Jeremie Frimpong.
Frimpong, 19, broke into the Celtic’s first team last season after leaving Manchester City.
He has made over 40 appearances since and has three years left on his current deal.
However, reports in the UK suggest that the club have been speaking to him about an extension but a deal has not been struck.
Celtic reportedly have the belief that Southampton wants to sign the player and also believe that a number of English Championship clubs are interested in him.
Frimpong was named the team’s best young player last season.
