Eric Bekoe, a young and upcoming footballer collected the player of the tournament award as his side Okorase Young Boys won the C. K. Gyamfi memorial gala beating Mile 50 FC 1-0 in Koforidua.
Okorase Young boys won the football tournament organized in memory of Ghana football legend C. K. Gyamfi also known as Nana Gyamfi Kumi I at Okorase in Koforidua. The tournament was organized by the king of Okorase Nana Asare Kumi III and the Assembly man Evans Sarkodee-Kodom in memory of the son of their land who passed away in 2015.
Nana Asare Kumi III challenged the players to emulate the nature of C. K. Gyamfi and follow the path he set. He urged them to be humble in their dealings and work very hard to achieve their aims if they are to make the cut to be professional players in future.
The tournament which was played by 8 teams was won by Okorase Young Boys, a largely under 15 side who defied all odds by beating their aged colleagues in the tournament to annex the trophy.
