Ghana’s Black Stars finished the year 2019 among the top 50 national teams in the world after climbing up to 47th position.
Coach Kwasi Appiah’s side are however, ranked as the sixth best team on the African continent.
Coach Kwesi Appiah’s team moved four places to sit in 47th position in the world and sixth on the continent last month and have maintained their spot both in Africa and in the world.
The Black Stars entered the top 50 countries in the world after recording back-to-back victories against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
The four-time African champions and 2019 AFCON runners-up, Senegal maintained their top spot as Africa’s best team in 20th position on the Coca Cola FIFA World rankings.
Meanwhile, Tunisia occupy the 27th position in the world and second on the continent.
The Super Eagles are ranked third Africa, moving up by four, reigning African champions Algeria are in fourth position whiles North African giants, Morocco are one place ahead of Ghana on the continent but 43rd in the world.
Egypt, Cameroon, Mali and Democratic Republic of Congo complete the top 10 best teams on the continent.
