Former Asokwa Deportivo SC right-back, Eric Boakye has won the 2020-21 Slovenia Cup with his team NK Olimpija Ljubljana against NK Celje.
The 21-year-old exciting defender played full throttle for the Green and Whites as they beat Celje 2-1 to lift the covetous trophy on Tuesday evening.
The Ghanaian wins his second Slovenia Cup trophy with the Olimpija club since his move from Division One League side Asokwa Deportivo SC in Kumasi, Ghana.
Two minutes after the hour mark, Djordje Ivanovic opened the scoring with a sumptuous strike on the 32nd minute mark to make it 1-0 to the Green and Whites.
Just a minute into the second half of the match, Iván Bozic grabbed the equalizer for Celje to make it 1-1.
Twelve minutes later, Nik Kapun scored a lovely goal inside 53 minutes to win the trophy for Olimpija Ljubljana to win their second Slovenia Cup in three years.
Boakye shined in the match as he helped his team to lift the cup after missing out on the league title.
