Former France youth international defender Enock Kwateng has finally decided to switch nationality and play for Ghana’s senior national team- Black Stars.
Ghanasoccernet.com reports that the 23-year-old, who plays for French top-flight side Girondins Bordeaux, made the decision after a consultation with his family and he is now ready to play for the Black Stars.
The former Nantes defender was approached by the Ghanaian authorities to play for the Black Stars some years ago and he has now taken the decision as he has not been considered by the French national team.
This means his performances for Bordeaux could lead to his call-up by the Ghana national team in the coming months.
What now remains unclear is whether he has completed the process to officially switch his nationality to play for the Black Stars which requires approval from the French Football Federation (FFF)
Kwateng who was born in the French town of Mantes-la-Jolie to Ghanaian parents, has represented France at U16, U17, U18, U19, and U20 levels.
