Ghanaian forward, Ebenezer Assifuah was on target for Pau FC in the 2021-22 French Ligue 2 against former top-flight side AS Nancy Lorraine on Saturday evening.
The former Ghana U20 topsman 68 minutes of the match as his side secured a vital opening day victory over the Red and Whites at home in the French second tier.
On the 34th minute mark of the match, Assifuah found the back of the net for Pau FC from close range following a corner kick to put the Yellow and Blues in the lead before the break.
Twelve minutes after the break, Nancy grabbed the equalizer to level matters on the 57th minute through Mamadou Khady Thiam’s exquisite finish.
At the depth of the match, Víctor Lobry scored the winner to secure all three points Pau as they begin the season with a 2-1 win at home on the opening day of the 2021-22 French Ligue 2 campaign.
