Asante Kotoko SC head coach, Mariano Barreto has advised the supporters of the club to support their young but potent striker instead of backlashing him.
Speaking ahead of the team’s week 21 Ghana Premier League clash with Medeama SC, the Kotoko coach asked the fans to be circumspect when criticing the young man.
“Kumi plays against Olympics, got a golden chance to score but couldn’t because he is inexperienced”, he said.
According to Barreto, the former Unistar Academy hitman needs time to settle well at the club to be able to fill the vaccum left by Kwame Opoku.
“He needs experience, he needs time and he would get better with time. The fans have to be patient.”
The 22-year-old Ghanaian forward, Kumi two goals in four games for the Porcupine Warriors since he joined ahead of the second round of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season.
