Emmanuel Lomotey marked his Amiens SC debut on Saturday with a 1-0 win over opponents Nancy at the Stade de la Licorne in front of some 5 000 fans.
The versatility of the Ghanaian midfielder was useful to manager Luka Elsner who paired Lomotey and Nathan Monzango in central defence as the experienced center back Aurelien Chedjou does not appear to welcome football in France second-tier league.
Lomotey lasted the whole duration of the game as Amiens kept a clean sheet.
The 22-year old is expected to help Amiens SC secure promotion back to the top flight – Ligue 1 – where they finished 18th last season.
The next three games for the team of Lomotey are against Le Havre on August 29 at away then against Paris FC on September 12 at home before playing Chateauroux on September 19.
