The G-8 2018 tournament has officially been launched today at True Vine Hotel, Kumasi.
The competition organised by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) previously was competed by the first top four clubs; then switched to a six tournament last season to principally prepare clubs adequately ahead of the new season.
The tournament which starts in January will see eight [8] battling for the ultimate title.
The three division clubs namely Dreams FC, Karela FC and Techiman Eleven Wonders will be hoping to text their strengths against old foes Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, Aduana Stars, Medeama SC and Dwarfs.
Medeama SC who were originally not in the competition will replace WAFA who pulled out of the competition.
The clubs have been grouped into two zones; Kumasi zone which comprises, FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko, Ghana Premier League title holders Aduana Stars, Dreams FC and Eleven wonders.
The Cape Coast zone has clubs like Hearts of Oak, Ebusua Dwarfs, Karela FC and Medeama SC.
The tournament is billed to start on January 6 and end on January 21.
