Obuasi Ashantigold SC traveled to Techiman to defeat Eleven Wonders FC by a lone goal to kick-start their Premier League season with a win.
The Miners inflinched a painful 1-0 defeat on the host to start the season on a high note with their first clean sheet of the season, a feet they barely achieved in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season.
The first half of the match was keenly contested with a lot of tackles flying from both sides.
Ashantigold upped their game in the second half after a goalless first 45 minutes of the match and started creating some few decent chances.
Wonders responded very well by creating chances on their own but failed to find the back of the net as goalkeeper Kof Mensah remained resolute at the back.
Seven minutes from full time, Eric Esso, the brother of Ghanaian international Joseph Esso broke the deadlock of the match to snatch all three points for the Miners.
