Ghanaian giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko have mutually terminated contract with Guinean forward Naby Laye Keita after an uninspiring campaign during the 2020-21 season.
According to a report by Manhyia’s mouthpiece Opemsuo started that the Guinea will no longer play for the Porcupine Warriors again.
Kaita failed to live up to the expectations of the club’s heirerchy and technical team after failing to mark a good mark at the club despite the sale of top striker Kwame Opoku to Algerian club USM Alger.
He scored three goals in the 2020-21 season including a match winning goal against regional rivals Kumasi King Faisal FC in Techiman.
The Guinean signed for Asante Kotoko duringBBlack Stars coach CK Akonnor’s tenure as head coach of the Red and Whites on a three-year deal in 2018.
He helped Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC to lift the normalisation committee trophy and was an integral part of the team to reaches the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup competition in 2019.
Keita later became a fans favourite at the club at a point in time especially when he scored a last-minute penalty in their 1-2 away victory against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2019/20 season which was halted by Covid-19.
