Armenian outfit Urartu Football Club have officially completed the signing of defender Nana Antwi.
The Ghanaian joins the club from Lori FC, where he had a decent season despite his side’s poor end to the campaign.
The 20-year-old made 17 appearances for the Armenian side in the top-flight last season as they eighth on the league table.
Announcing the signing of the youngster on their official website, Urartu FC said: “We are happy to announce that Urartu Football Club has a new signing. The club has signed a contract with Ghanaian defender Nana Antwi. The 20-year-old player moved to Urartu FC from Lori Vanadzor FC, where he played 17 matches. We’d like to add that Antwi also played in the French Lille OSC.”
The Ghanaian also expressed his delight after securing the move adding that it is a dream to play for Urartu FC.
He said: “Every player dreams of playing in such a club. I have friends who play here: Mensah, Iwu, Desire. When I told them that I have the opportunity to go to Urartu FC, they said that I should not miss this opportunity. Now I am at Urartu FC and will do my best to help this team achieve its goals.”
Nana Antwi will be hoping to make a huge impact at his new club when the season begins.
