Dutch-born Ghanaian international Brian Brobbey traveled with Ajax Amsterdam’s senior team to Italy and could make his debut in the UEFA Champions League against Atalanta B.C on Tuesday.
The promising attacker who has scored five goals in eight matches for Jong Ajax this season has been added to manager Erik ten Hag’s squad for their second group stage game against the Italian side after losing 1-0 to Liverpool in their group opener last week.
Brian Brobbey has been outstanding for Ajax at the youth levels with some amazing stats.
He scored 26 goals in 24 games for the U17 team and also netted 37 goals in 41 games for the U19 side.
Brobbey, who is the youngest of four brothers, Kevin Luckassen, Derrick Luckassen and Samuel Brobbey who are all professional footballers, has 12 goals in 24 games to his credit at the Ajax U23s.
Mohammed Kudus who was making his Champions League debut in the game, lasted only six minutes on the pitch after suffering an injury that has ruled him out until next season.
