Black Maidens of Ghana conceded a late goal to end their participation in the FIFA under17 Women’s World Cup.
The Maidens conceded goal through a harsh penalty in the 31st minute of the game through Kim Pom but a thunderous back back from the Ghanaian side saw their incessant pressure paid off when Gifty Acheampong headed in a cross to pull parity in the 83rd minute.
The Maidens then took control of the game creating some decent chances with the convention of scoring another goal to qualify them to the semifinals but that became a fruitless dream.
The heartbreaking moment came in the 93rd when substitute Linda Amoako brought down a Korean player a few metres away from the penalty area.
Ja Un-Yong shot home the winner of the game for the Koreans.
The Black Maidens defied all odds to progress from the toughest group in the competition but will be disappointed with a last-minute goal which has seen them exit the competition.
