Defender Nuru Sulley says he initiated his departure from Hearts of Oak following reports that he was sacked by the club for non-performance.
Sulley rejoined the Phobians in April 2020 but failed to become a regular first team member for majority of his stay at the club.
“I was not sacked by the club. I was the one that asked to leave the club due to my lack of playing time.” Nuru Sulley told Fox FM on Friday.
“I started playing regularly before coach Boadu came but it came to a time where I was not given the chance to play even when there were opportunities” he added.
Meanwhile Sulley confirmed many clubs have asked about his availability following the official announcement of his exit at Hearts of Oak.
