What did you think when you found out that MFF was interested in you?
“It was a cool feeling I can say! I did not dare tell anyone at first. I knew it was a big club and as soon as I knew that MFF were interested, I wanted to come here. There was no doubt. And now I belong to the MFF family, this is my new home.”
How would you describe yourself as a player?
“It is difficult but I would say that I am a player that supporters like. And then I’m a goal scorer, quite simply! I will try to help the team in good times and in difficult times. I will have to adapt to the country and to the team’s way of playing, because right now everything is new to me, but I am ready to give everything.”
You started your professional career in Portugal after taking the step there as a youngster. How was that experience?
“For me, it was a great achievement just to come to Portugal. My time there developed me enormously, both as a player and as a person. My goal has always been to reach as far as possible and I have fought hard, both in Ghana and in Portugal, to get the chance to play in a club like Malmö FF.”
“In the last two seasons you were loaned to two different clubs and scored a lot of goals. Tell us about your two seasons on loan.”
“It has been good. I learned a lot from my coaches and my teammates. It has been tough sometimes but I have been strong, had patience and tried to constantly fight and learn new things in training.”
-“The time in Portugal has given me a lot and now I am very happy to belong to MFF. I am in no hurry but am always calm. This is my home now and I look forward to contributing to the club’s success.”.
Abubakari scored 11 goals and provided four assists in the 2020-21 Portugal Secunda Liga for Casa Pia on loan from Moreirense.
