New head coach of Ghana Premier League side, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum has revealed his intentions to ensure the club ends up with some silverwares under his watch.
Narteh Ogum was confirmed as head coach of the Porcupine Warriors in the early hours of Sunday, replacing Portuguese coach Mariano Barreto in the dugouts.
Barreto ended the 2020/21 season with Kotoko finishing second on the league table while also failing to secure any trophy, but Narteh Ogum is hoping to change that narrative in his time with the Kumasi-based club.
Speaking in his interview as the club’s gaffer, the former WAFA head coach said: “I want Kotoko to play beautiful game that would please everyone who watches the team at training and in games. I want Kotoko to win trophies in my time here as Head Coach.”
He also outlined the need for the team to be disciplined and ‘respect themselves’ during his initial two years stay with the club.
“I want the team to be disciplined in an unprecedented way; that the players would respect themselves, the supporters, and Management and all these people also respect the players back so the players would know they’re important and give their best at training and in game,” the Kotoko boss concluded.
Prosper Narteh Ogum joined the Porcupine Warriors after guiding WAFA to a historic third place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season.
