Ghana’s Black Stars skipper, Andre Ayew has revealed that he is happy to remain at Swansea City at the end of the current season.
Speaking to the press ahead of Swansea City’s last game of the 2019-20 English Championship season, the Swansea marks man declared his intentions of staying at the St. Mary’s stadium.
“I’m happy here. I love it and I have a great bond with the club and fans”, Ayew said.
The 30-year-old did not shy away from admitting to having a tough time at the club when he first arrived for the season after a season on loan at Turkish side Fenerbahçe.
“When I came back it was after an injury and then we went down. It was a difficult period, but this season I was able to put things back into order and make sure the fans know I’m back.
Ayew stated that, the bond between him and his teammate together with that of the fans has been a pivot in the rise of his game this campaign for the Jack Army’s.
“I’m happy for that and they’re happy with me and that bond is back. I’m a player who needs that feeling around me to give my best.
“Having that from the Swansea fans is very important to me”, he added.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his stay at the Championship side, our sources can reveal that the Ghana International would be pleased to ink a new contract to prolong his stay at the club beyond this summer.
