All-time leading goal-scorer for Ghana Asamoah Gyan has jumped to the defence of former Ivory Coast national team captain Didier Drogba who is bidding to become the Ivory Coast Football Federation president.
The 42-year old Chelsea legend saw his candidature rejected by the election committee on August 27th after which tension has gone up in the West African country.
Gyan – 51 goals for Ghana – has publicly backed Drogba who is also the all-time top goalscorer for the Ivory Coast with 65 goals in 105 games.
” Football legends deserves a place in administration. Didier Drogba has seen it all with the national team and club teams.” Gyan wrote on Twitter.
“I am for his transition into management and support his bid….allow fair playing ground and let the people/association decided” Gyan concluded.
