Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has dismissed widespread reports claiming new Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz will earn $100,000 per month, insisting the figures being circulated are inaccurate.
Speculation had intensified in recent days suggesting that the Ghana Football Association had offered a lucrative package to secure the services of the experienced Portuguese tactician. However, Adams has clarified that the financial terms are far lower than reported.
“We are not paying him $100,000. We are not paying him up to that amount at all,” he told Asempa FM.
The minister further explained that the exact salary cannot yet be confirmed because the full contract has not been finalised or signed.
“I will check the figures because we have not completed everything, but it’s not up to $100,000,” he added.
Queiroz, who arrived in Ghana on April 22, was officially unveiled a day later and has already begun work ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He has since embarked on a European tour, where he held meetings with captain Jordan Ayew and his deputy Thomas Partey as part of early preparations.
