Accra Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi is relishing the prospect of fighting for his place in the striking position at the club when the all clear is given for football activity to return.
The 2019/20 Ghana Premier League is currently on hold following the outbreak of the coronavirus that has destabilized most social activities worldwide.
Kordzi said he is looking forward to returning to training with the rest of his colleagues and fight for his position up front as he looks forward to continuing from where he left off prior to the season being halted.
He was the leading marksman for Hearts with six goals and, was hitting form at the right time only for this Covid-19 pandemic to set in.
Hearts made five signings with three up front in the last transfer window as Coach Edward Odoom sought to bolster his attacking options ahead of the possible resumption of the league.
“I am for the collective success of the team and will always welcome additions that will help improve the fortunes of the club going forward” Kordzi told Hearts Media.
He added: “I have always believed in my own abilities and do not feel pressured in trying to fight for my place in the team. I welcome the competition and I am confident of earning a starting berth in the team when football resumes.”
The bulky striker said that this will only be good for the team and is hopeful that Hearts will hurt teams when the season resumes as the strikers will be firing from all angles.
