Ghanaian tactician James Kwasi Appiah has revealed that he feels he can bring something to the Black Stars setup, hence his reason for applying for the role.
The experienced manager coached the team on two different occasions. He led them to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Otto Addo, who was the head coach of the side, left the role after his team exited the 2022 World Cup group stages.
Appiah revealed this information to Kumasi-based Sompa FM. He is among a host of coaches to apply for the job including Chris Hughton.
“It is true,” he told Kumasi-based Sompa FM.
“When it emerged that no Ghanaian coach has applied for the job, I felt being a Ghanaian, I feel I can also do something and that is the reason why I have applied for the job,” the Asante Kotoko legend added.
A new trainer for the team is expected to be named this month.
