Ghanaian giant Asante Kotoko SC returned to winning ways with a narrow victory over Legon Cities FC on Sunday afternoon in Dawu.
The Porcupine Warriors scored first through Cameroonian striker Franck Mbella Thierry Etouga on the 29th minute mark to make it 1-0 to the Red and Whites.
Three minutes later, Ahmed Rahman headed home the equalizer after poor goalkeeping by Razak Abalora to level matters for Legon Cities FC before half time.
Twelve minutes from full time, Mbella Etouga scored his second goal of the match after connecting a cross from Stephen Amankonah to restore Asante Kotoko’s lead inside 78 minutes.
Kotoko moves to second on the league table with 17 points same as third placed team Kumasi King Faisal FC with both teams having a game in hand and three points behind leaders Aduana Stars FC who are on 20 points after nine matches.
The Porcupine Warriors will host struggling West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC side on boxing day in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Stadium.
