Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey will be back in action for the upcoming match against Sheffield United on Monday.
Partey, who has been sidelined with an injury since October 2023, has regained fitness and will be included in the squad for the trip to Bramall Lane.
Arteta expressed confidence in Partey’s recovery progress, stating, “Thomas Partey should be part of the squad on Monday.” He further elaborated, mentioning Partey’s recent training sessions and the positive trajectory of his rehabilitation.
“He had a session before the last game, now he’s done two or three sessions. It’s progressing well,” he added.
The Ghanaian international last featured for Arsenal as a second-half substitute in their 1-0 victory over Manchester City. However, his return was delayed due to an injury sustained during Ghana’s international friendlies against the United States and Mexico, followed by a setback before the UEFA Champions League encounter against RC Lens.
Partey’s absence continued through the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was unable to represent Ghana. Now, with his recovery on track, Arsenal fans can anticipate his impactful return to the midfield as they face Sheffield United in their upcoming fixture.
