Ghanaian defender, Mohammed Salisu scored his maiden goal for Southampton in their cup win over Sheffield United on Tuesday night.
The central defender returned to the Saints’ starting line-up in the game against Sheffield in the EFL Cup at the Bramall Lane, as one of the changes made to Southampton’s squad.
Salisu, who is yet to represent the Black Stars, had a decent game all night and was fortunate to see his name on the scoresheet after Ibrahima Diallo had cancelled out Enda Stevens opener.
The Ghanaian looked set to have clinched the winner for his side until Oliver McBurnie leveled things for the Blades in the 66th minute of the game.
Southampton went ahead to play Sheffield in the penalty shoot-out, winning by four goals to two as they progressed to the next round of the competition.
