The National Police Volleyball team were involved in an accident when returning to their base in Accra from Takoradi on Sunday, July 23.
The champions of the 2017 edition of the southern sector volleyball had their bus crashed by another uncoming vehicle on the Takoradi Accra road.
After clinching the coveted title on Saturday evening, a KIA truck on the Gomoa Potsin Road ran into the Police team bus damaging the bus’s headlight on the sunny Sunday afternoon on the team’s way to their base in Accra.
Skipper of the national volleyball team, Black Spikers, Paul Akal who plays as a setter for the Police team was sitting at the bus’s part that collided with the KIA truck and endured serious injuries to his shin and limbs.
Together with others in the bus were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
