Thomas Partey won the 2017/18 Europa League with Atletico de Madrid after they dispatched Olympique de Marseille in the 2018 final at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
Atletico won 3-0 after 90 minutes but Partey saw very little action on that great night as he was an 88th minute substitute for Angel Correa.
After leaving the Spanish side for Arsenal at the start of the current season, the Ghanaian has helped his team to reach the semifinals of Europe’s second most prestigious competition.
Arsenal were 4-0 winners over Slavia Prague on Thursday at the Sinobo stadium in Prague and the Black Stars midfielder started the game before taking a rest after 78 minutes with the Gunners 4-0 up.
The team managed by Mikel Arteta will now meet Spanish opposition Villareal in the semis and if they prevail over two legs they will have to go pass either AS Roma or Manchester United to lift the ultimate trophy.
That will mean a second European trophy for Thomas Partey.
