Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Ernest Poku has been included in AZ Alkmaar’s squad for pre-season in Gelderland.
The 17-year-old forward is currently training with the senior team as he sends strong signal to manager Pascal Jansen ahead of the 2021/22 Dutch Eredivisie season.
The former FC Amsterdam attacker has been impressive in camp, scoring in the friendly win against TOP Oss and again forcing the draw against Anderlecht.
Manager Pascal Jansen is happy with the teenager’s development and could hand him the chance at topflight football next season.
He will be joining compatriot Myron Boadu in the first team for the upcoming campaign.
Poku made his U-23 debut last season but he is expected to play a role at Jong AZ next year.
