RB Leipzig coach Jesse Marsch has commended youngster Solomon Bonnah after an impressive Bundesliga debut over the weekend.
The young talent played his first league game as a professional footballer. In the next game, there are more minutes waiting for him. Jesse Marsch hinted at this on Thursday and at the same time praised the 18-year-old.
“A great boy,” said Marsch at the press conference before the match with Union Berlin. Bonnah was last substituted on in the Champions League against Club Brugge and then in the Bundesliga against Leverkusen.
He was “certainly not the prototype of a central defender,” said Marsch. “But when you’re small, you always have to be one step ahead with your intelligence.” And Bonnah seems to be doing that well. Marsch explained: “He is intelligent. He is always ready for the next situation, makes the most of it. No matter whether in preparation / in tests or now in the last two games. ”
Leipzig’s coach has been very happy with the youngster’s career so far. Accordingly, he would have “no hesitation in bringing the boy to the field”. The chances of that happening aren’t that bad, Marsch knows too: “We’ll probably need him again tomorrow.”
