The President of New Edubiase United Abdul Salam Yakubu has revealed that he admonished Nana Yaw Amponsah not to contest the 2019 GFA Presidential election because he was never going to win.
However the current Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer – named on Friday August 7th – polled 27 votes in the first round of the election to the utter dismay of many.
“I was one of the first persons that Nana Yaw contacted when he intended to contest the GFA Presidential seat and I told him point blank that he should not waste his time because he will not win” Abdul Salam Yakubu said in an interview with Fox FM.
“I knew he was never going to win because he had no constituency.” Abdul Salam explained.
“But I must admit that I was taken aback after seeing that he actually got 27 votes. That was massive” he added.
The New Edubiase President has gone on to back the former Phar Rangers boss to succeed in his new role as Kotoko CEO.
