The Western Region came to a stand-still on Independence Day as the best Skaters from all over Ghana trooped to the Western Region to be part of the 2nd edition of SK8 Fest, (SK8 Fest 2017) at the Liberation Road in Takoradi.
The second edition of SK8 Fest (#SK8 FEST 2017) lived up to the hype as 6 Skating clubs from parts of Ghana competed keenly for the coveted crown as well as the bragging rights of being the best Skating Club in Ghana. The skating clubs included Monster Energy (Accra), The Avengers (Takoradi), Big Team (Cape Coast), Cal Street (Takoradi) and K2 Skaters (Cape Coast)
The Professional Skaters competed in Free-styling, Cone Drills, Long Jump and High Jump as the mammoth crowd couldn’t hide their excitement but kept clapping in awe.
At the end of the fiercely contested competition, Monster Energy Skating Club emerged winners and walked away with products from Miksi as well as a cash prize of GH1,000 with the second place going to the Avengers who also walked away with GH500 and products from Miksi.
Head of events at Power Haus Promotions Agyekum Gyimah Akwasi, speaking to the media hinted that Power Haus Promotions is committed to promoting Skating in Ghana and called on other corporate bodies to also come on board to support the sport.
Recognized as Ghana’s official street skating festival, Skate Fest (SK8 Fest) is organized annually by Takoradi based event Management Company Power Haus Promotions with support from Abigii Pharma, Miksi (Promasidor) and Media Partnered by Beach 105.5 fm.
