Scottish giants Rangers are reportedly intensified negotiations to sign Dutch-born Ghanaian highly-rated young defender Dennis Gyamfi.
The 18-year-old right-back has officially left Leicester City as a free agent after refusing to extend his contract and he is now being tracked by the Glasgow side, Rangers.
The Graphic Sports Online reports that Rangers manager, Steve Gerrard, has had positive reports about the teenager from Brendan Rogers and Kolo Toure and he is keen to bring him to the Ibrox Stadium.
Gyamfi was promoted to Leicester City’s senior team by Brendan Rogers after the lockdown as a replacement for the injured Ricardo Perreira and trained with the team before deciding to look elsewhere for his future.
Aside Rangers, English Premiership side Arsenal are also reportedly looking at the youngster and could make a swoop before the summer transfer window ends.
The budding talent made nine appearances and scored one goal for the Foxes’ under-18 team this season before the league came to an end due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents, Gyamfi grew up in England and is eligible to play for all three countries at international level.
He has been likened to Manchester United Aaron Wan Bissaka due to similarities in their style of play.
