The Ghanaian midfielder played the full 90 minutes for Esperance de Tunis in their Tunis derby stalemate against Club Africain on Wednesday night.
Bonsu started the game in a three-man midfield that included Ivorian Fousseny Coulibaly and Algerian Abdelraouf Benguit.
It was a close game with few clear goalscoring opportunities for both sides but the performance of Bonsu was appreciable which interests us.
The former Kotoko midfielder played is his favorite number 8 role as he linked the midfield and attack with cleverness. He tracked back for defensive duties whenever Club Africain had possession of the ball and broke on the counter and his 80th minute interception especially prevented the home team from scoring a lat goal.
Esperance needed to win to conclude their 30th league title but now the team of Mouine Chaabani will have to wait on Sunday August 30th to celebrate their title success when they play at home against 8th place Chebba football club.
Kwame Bonsu’s team lead the standings with 54 points after 22 matches played and they just need two points to confirm their title triumph.
