International Federation of Football History and Statistics best referee on the African continent for 2021, Victor Gomes together with Assistant Referee, Zakhele Siwela have been selected by CAF to officiate at the upcoming AFCON Cameroon 2021 tournament.
The tournament will run from January 9 to 6 February 2022.
The delayed tournament will finally come off next month with as many as 32 countries expected to battle for glory.
Ahead of the tournament, CAF has finalised the list of referees that will be handling matches.
The two are scheduled to travel to Cameroon on New Year to undergo a mandatory refresher course that has been organised prior to the tournament. The refresher course will take place from 3 January.
The two, together with other selected referees from the continent, will also undergo physical, theoretical and technical tests during the course.
Meanwhile, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa won’t be playing at the tournament next year January in Cameroon after failing to book qualification.
