Black Stars ‘B’ striker Joseph Esso is highly optimistic of securing qualification to the 2020 CHAN tournament to be staged in Cameroon.
Ghana suffered a 1-0 shocking loss to the local stallions of Burkina Faso in the first leg of the 2020 Championship of Africa Nations qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
A 94th minute strike from Stephane Yannick gave Burkina Faso a victory over the 2017 WAFU Cup winners.
Nonetheless, the Hearts of Oak forward who partnered Ashantigold’s Shafiu Mumuni in attack, says his’s despite losing at home can beat Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou in the reverse leg which comes off in October 22, 2019 after the WAFU championship and qualify to the CHAN tournament.
Speaking exclusively to SportsworldGhana.com, Esso said “I only pray for strength,we can beat them over there in Ouagadougou and qualify for the CHAN,”
He further stated that the team would do everything possible to record a good aggregate scoreline and make Ghanaians proud by qualifying for the 2020 CHAN championship.
