Four members of Ghana’s Black Stars squad are still expected to join the team’s training camp in Cardiff as preparations continue for Tuesday’s international friendly against Wales and the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars held another training session on Saturday at Dragon Park, with 24 players taking part. Midfielder Thomas Partey and forward Inaki Williams were the latest players to arrive in camp and immediately joined their teammates in training.
Their arrival has boosted the squad as head coach Carlos Queiroz steps up preparations ahead of the crucial warm-up match at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Despite the growing numbers in camp, four players are yet to report. Defenders Alex Djiku and Kojo Oppong Peprah, midfielder Augustine Boakye, and striker Antoine Semenyo have not yet linked up with the rest of the squad in Wales.
As a result, the technical team is currently working with 24 of the 28 players selected for the pre-World Cup training camp.
The camp forms a key part of Ghana’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before facing England and Croatia in their remaining group-stage fixtures.
The friendly encounter against Wales on Tuesday will serve as the Black Stars’ final test before departing for North America for the global tournament.
Kick-off at the Cardiff City Stadium is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. as Ghana looks to fine-tune its squad ahead of the World Cup challenge.
