President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, has congratulated the Black Stars of Ghana for their qualification to the knockout phase of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana defeated Guinea Bissau 2-0 on Tuesday at the Suez Stadium to finish Group F as leaders.
Coach Kwasi Appiahs side will thus face Tunisia in the knockout stage on Monday at the Ismailia Stadium.
The president in wishing the Black Stars good luck in Monday’s crucial game also charged the team to work hard and win the title for the first time in 37-years.
”Congratulations to the Black Stars for their victory over Guinea Bissau and topping Group F. Best of luck in the Round of 16 match against Tunisia. Let’s end the AFCON trophy drought this year,” the president tweeted after Tuesday 2-0 win over Guinea Bissau.
