After playing a crucial role in Mali’s 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire round of 16 clash, Lassine Sinayoko expressed satisfaction with the result but emphasized that there is still much work to be done.
The forward, who plies his trade in France, commended his team’s resilient performance against their neighbors but issued a caution, acknowledging that upcoming matches will present even tougher challenges.
“It was a really tough match against a good side. We had to work extra hard, but I am glad we eventually got the result. There is still a lot of work to be done, so we can celebrate this victory but still keep at the back of our minds that there is still a lot of work ahead,” said Sinayoko.
The Eagles are set to face hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the quarter-finals in Bouake on Saturday, promising another action-packed knockout fixture in Cote d’Ivoire.
