Ajax youngster Brian Brobbey ready to play for Black Stars

Ajax Amsterdam promising striker Brian Brobbey is finally ready to represent Ghana’s Black Stars as he has officially written to the Ghana FA to commence a nationality switch for him, SPORTSworldGhana.com can exclusively report.

Born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents, the 18-year old striker has represented the Netherlands at the various youth national team levels but has opted to play for his motherland at the senior national level.

SPORTS WORLD GHANA can report that the Ajax teen sensation together with his senior brother Derrick Luckassen of RSC Anderlecht fame officially wrote to the country’s football governing body last year to commence documentations to declare them eligible to play for the four-time African champions.

The two brothers who previously held talks with former Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah, have been in Coach CK Akonnor’s plans as he seeks to assemble a solid team to represent Ghana at the next African Cup of Nations tournament and the FIFA World Cup.

Brobbey has been in scintillating for Ajax this campaign, banging in five goals in eight games for the Reserve side in the Eerste Divisie.

The well-built striker scored on his first senior team appearance for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday as they demolished Fortuna Sittard 5-2 at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Brobbey made the Ajax 17-man sqaud who traveled to Denmark for their UEFA Champions League match against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday night.
