Belgian Pro League side RSC Anderlecht, have announced the departure of winger Jeremy Doku to French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais.
The 18-year-old flank attacker has failed to accept an offer from English champions Liverpool to sign for the French side after an agreement was struck between them and Anderlecht on Monday afternoon.
It is, however, unclear the number of years the youngster has signed as Rennais as officially yet to confirm his capture.
Jeremy arrived at the academy in Neerpede in 2012 and walked through the club’s youth ranks.
In 2018, he made his debut with the first Purple & White team at the age of 16. With his speed and technical skills, he was the first to break through from the strong crop of 2002.
The Belgium-born Ghanaian winger in total scored 6 goals for Anderlecht and provided 7 assists in 37 games.

Speaking on his move to the French league Doku said: “I am so grateful to the club and to everyone I worked with over the years for all the opportunities I have had here. Anderlecht will remain my home for the rest of my life. But now I am really looking forward to proving myself in a strong competition and the Champions League, an absolute boyhood dream. At Rennes I will work hard and use my playing opportunities to become even stronger.”
Anderlecht Sports director on the other hand spoke highly of the promising winger.
“From a sporting point of view, this transfer is of course a heavy loss. It is also a transfer that does not fit within our sporting vision. But we must first secure our financial position before we can fully roll out that vision. It is now up to Yari, Mus, Francis and others to take a step. In addition, it was also the wish of Jeremy to take this step and to develop further at a club that is active in the Champions League. This transfer is again a compliment for our entire youth work. We wish Jeremy every success and hope that Rennes will not be his final destination.”
Jeremy Doku was handed his first call-up for the Red Devils last month and scored in his debut game against Iceland in the UEFA Nations League.
