Asante Kotoko suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat to lower-tier side Benab FC on Tuesday morning in a friendly game at the Adako Jachie Training Complex.
Benab FC took the lead after just six minutes into the game after a striker slotted in a pass inside the box to beat Goalkeeper Felix Annan ending the first half 1-0 in their favour.
Back from the break, Martin Antwi restored parity for Mariano Barreto’s side in the 58th minute but the lower club fought hard and finally got the match-winner in the 84th minute when their striker headed home from close range.
Kotoko will host Medeama SC in matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Saturday. They are currently leaders on the log with 34 points.
